Noriko and Don Carroll are an internationally recognized creative team.
Don Carroll has traveled the world photographing erupting volcanos in Hawaii, shark feeding frenzy in the Bahamas, hidden Himalayan villages, and so on, exploring the journey through camera.
His photograph of the 14th Dalai Lama on Paris Vogue is one of the unique Vogue covers. He worked for many New York advertising agencies for several decades. His best selling book, Focus on Special Effects influenced many of creative photographers. Before digital photography becomes popular (pre-Photoshop,) he has lectured Special Effects photography across the U.S. shared techniques and encouraging photographers to create images exist in their mind’s eye.
Noriko joined Don with her digital photo-illustration skills in the 90s. Together, they have published Happy Birthday, the Cat, and First Flight: A Mother Hummingbird’s Story (Andrews McMeel Publishing). Their first documentary film, First Flight: A Mother Hummingbird’s Story, gave them recognition as documentary film makers. It won several international film awards including Best Independent Award at the International Wildlife Film Festival, Missoula, MO. Secrets of the Hummingbird’s Tongue is their second film. They live in Las Vegas with beloved cats and birds.
